We started our day early by heading off the Heathrow Terminal 3 to catch our Delta flight. The 7 and a half flight was full of movies and a lot of eating!
We landed at 3pm and after collecting our baggage and clambering on to the coach we finally arrived at the Wolcott Hotel at 6pm. The hotel was in a perfect location as it was on West 31st Street between 5th Avenue and Broadway. Looking up into the New York Skyline from the entrance of our hotel we could see the beautiful Empire State Building. To pay tribute to the passing David Bowie in the early hours of Monday the Empire State Building was lit up in orange and purple.
As it was our first night we decided to gather our bearings and started to walk up 5th Avenue to get to Times Square. We seem to have taken the longest route! This was due to our lack of map reading skills. Which just proves that none of us learnt much from our Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
We finally entered the buzz of Times Square which was rather overwhelming for a tired bunch of girls. As it was our first night we weren't very adventurous and wanted our fix of burgers and chips... and of course wifi so we headed to McDonalds.
We perked ip after dinner and headed into Forever 21 and then to any makeup lovers heaven ... SEPHORA!
